Welcome to Packerland!

And welcome to the Packerland Playbook, your guide to fun in Northeast Wisconsin. One of the most popular destinations in the Midwest, the area we call Packerland includes five distinct regions–the FIVE STARS of Packerland. They include Greater Green Bay, Appleton and the Fox Cities, the Door County Peninsula, the Lakeshore of Lake Michigan and the Near North Woods. Each has its own claim to fame, and all are within an easy hour’s drive of Green Bay. Together they make Packerland a year round destination that’s a great place to meet, relax and play.

The FIVE STARS of Packerland

1. Greater Green Bay–Home of the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers’ 12 World Championships and three Super Bowl trophies have brought Titletown worldwide fame, and the city has grown comfortable with hosting the throngs of visitors that pour in each year. From legendary Lambeau Field and the Packers Hall of Fame to sports bars, hotels, attractions, original restaurants and vibrant nightlife, there’s plenty to see and do in Green Bay all year round.

2. Appleton & the Fox Cities–Wisconsin’s Shopping Place.

A half hour to south you’ll find the 16 communities along the Fox River and Lake Winnebago that make up the Fox Cities. The Fox River Mall and adjacent stores represent the largest concentration of retail development in the state, while vibrant downtowns like Appleton and Neenah host specialty shops, restaurants and galleries.

3. Door County Peninsula–The Cape Cod of the Midwest.

Less than an hour to the northeast, the Door County Peninsula boasts more miles of shoreline and more lighthouses than any county in the United States. A true vacationer’s paradise, the Door’s charming towns and villages are home to unique shops, galleries, restaurants and lodgings that make it a world class destination year round.
Eagle Harbor

4. Lakeshore of Lake Michigan–Charm and Charter Fishing.

A 45-minute drive to the east takes you through beautiful rolling farmland and ends at the lakeshore of Lake Michigan, the largest freshwater lake in the country. Sand beaches, world-class charter fishing for salmon and trout and charming fishing villages make the journey along the Lakeshore a reward in itself.
Kewaunee Light

5. Near north Woods–Legendary Lakes, Rivers and Forests.

And finally, within an hour’s drive north of Green Bay you’ll find the landscape gradually changes from Wisconsin’s signature dairy farms to the vast North Woods, with its miles upon miles of unbroken forestland, hundreds of lakes and thousands of miles of rivers and streams. The lumbering towns of old are tourist towns today, with shops, eateries and amenities that cater to campers, hunters, boaters and fishermen.
